The Department of Foreign Affairs has awarded the aid agency GOAL €250,000 in funding to provide water to drought-affected communities in the West Hararghe district of Ethiopia.
The project is geared to alleviate the suffering of 142,000 drought victims in the east African country, where millions of people are in need of assistance.
GOAL has worked alongside the poor of Ethiopia since just before the horrific famine of the mid-1980s.
