Gardai are hunting the gunmen who threatened and tied up a family in their Co Louth home.

Gardai say the raiders burst into the house at Dromiskine near Dundalk last night .

The house belongs to a local business man who was at home with his wife and three children at the time.

The raiders also tied up two visitors who arrived later.

The men fled the house in one of the visitor’s cars after 45 minutes but didn’t steal anything.

The businessman is being treated for injuries he received as a result of the raid.
