Clocks go back tonight; here are a few things you could do with the extra hour

Tomorrow morning, Sunday October 25, at 2am the clocks will magically go back an hour to 1am, giving you another hour in the sack Sunday morning.

It is a miracle just short of Christmas, Santa and the flying reindeers.

All it needs is a few presents and the day would be perfect.

We like to think that extra hour has a lot of potential, so here are a few suggestions with what to do with your extra time capsule tomorrow.

1. Bake a cake .

Sure, it’s a bit old-fashioned and perhaps even a bit strange but think of the nice sweet sugar rush you would have to start the day and let’s be honest it’s pretty good craic messing about in the kitchen.

Just remember the golden rule, if you bake it, the eater cleans up. That is as sacred as the five second rule so you know it’s legit.

A good madeira cake will take you about an hour to make, although icing will *eat* into extra time –we’re sorry we couldn’t help ourselves.

2. Roll over and go back to sleep

It’s a classic, you can’t beat the classics.

3. Make a breakfast fry for the whole family.

There is possibly nothing better than waking up to the welcoming smell of bacon and eggs wafting its way around the house from a bustling kitchen of steam and heat. It will put you in the good books for weeks with the rest of the clan.

4. Take the dog for walk.

He will love you even more and it’s a form of exercise. Exercise? You know that thing where you get all sweaty and pant like the dog? Yeah that, it’s good for you too!

5. Buy a newspaper and catch up on the news in the old-school style .

Trust us, it will make you feel all grown –up and mature. If you really want to go all out, you could get a fancy hot beverage and read the paper in a café whilst giving disapproving looks to youngsters and muttering things like ‘back in my day’.

6. Stay out even late tonight

- and get an extra-large cheesy chip on the way home -that extra hour means extra sustenance.

7. Clean your room

It will get rid of the smell. Yes, that is what the smell is.

8. Call your mother.

Sure all you are going to talk about is the clocks going back and how confusing that is for everyone and wouldn’t it be better if it wasn’t a thing, but it’s nice to be nice and it will make you feel like a saint for the rest of the day.
