Celtic midfielder Stilian Petrov insists the win over Rangers can boost the Hoops for the Tennent’s Scottish Cup final against Dunfermline in a fortnight.
The Parkhead team have lost their last two home games but completed a five-game whitewash over their Ibrox rivals with a late Chris Sutton goal.
Petrov told BBC Scotland: “It meant a lot to us. We have not been at our best in the last few games.
“We wanted to do it today. Stefan Klos was brilliant today but the spirit in the team was shown.
“Hopefully, we will keep that spirit for the cup final now.”
Henrik Larsson bade farewell to Old Firm derbies today but Petrov believes the possible arrival of Rivaldo could be a boost for the Hoops.
“Rivaldo would be great. He has showed how good he is and he would be good for the team and the fans as well,” said Petrov.
“Henrik will be very badly missed but I hope we have a good replacement for him.
“We just need to keep going in the same way we have for the last few years. He will miss this atmosphere though.”
