Coastguard rescue six fishermen off stricken vessel

All six fishermen who were on board a fishing vessel which went down off Malin Head this morning having been airlifted to safety.

They are being brought to shore on the Sligo-based Coastguard Helicopter.

The men were winched on board within the past 20 minutes, and are all safe and well.

The Lough Swilly and Portrush lifeboats are also on the scene, and are now towing the life raft that the men had been on back to shore.

The men had taken to the life raft dressed in survival gear after the boat began to sink.
