Police accused of using office as butcher's shop

Police officers in Nepal have been accused of using their station to run a butcher's shop.

According to the Deputy Superintendent of the Kathmandu police force, 10 officers are being investigated and the official in charge of the station has reportedly been transferred.

The Deputy Superintendent said: "Locals used to bring their goats and the police personnel helped them to slaughter them.

"There was empty ground and easy availability of water in the police station. Goat meat was sold by locals from the police station area."

But the accused officers insist they were helping the community and deny making any money from the side activity.
