Norwich had Mattias Jonson, Damien Francis and Simon Charlton all back from injuries to boost their Premiership survival fight at mid-table Portsmouth, Francis returning after six games out with a fractured cheekbone.
Manager Nigel Worthington set out a 4-5-1 line-up against a Portsmouth side whose boss Velimir Zajec recalled Patrik Berger in midfield but only found room on the bench for fit-again Dejan Stefanovic.
David Unsworth missed out again with his hamstring problem and Berger returned at the expense of Amdy Faye.
