David Beckham insists he, and not his wife Victoria, will decide if he will sign a new contract at Manchester United.
Beckham claims he wants to stay at Old Trafford - if an agreement can be reached - and that the final decision will be his.
He once again dismissed talk that the Spice Girl wants him to leave United and move abroad.
The England star reportedly wants £100,000-a-week to stay at United but he claims contract negotiations have not yet started.
"I've not started my contract talks yet. I do want to stay at Manchester United, but at the end of the day it will be my decision," Beckham said.
"At the end of the day it's my decision whether I stay at Man United. Victoria is happy in Manchester and she always has been.
"At the end of the day if I can come to an agreement with the club then of course I want to stay. It's where I've grown up.
"I'm coming up for contract talks now, and it's always going to get mixed about and people are going to say one thing and mean the other thing.
"Victoria's never even mentioned leaving Man United.
"She loves living here - but I will be making the decision when I start contract talks.
"People say that Victoria is pulling me away from the club, which she has never done.
"At the end of the day it's a family decision, but it will be my decision whether I stay at Man United or not."
