Former Taoiseach Charles Haughey has dropped his legal challenge to the Moriarty Tribunal and has resumed giving evidence in private at Dublin Castle.

He was at the Castle both yesterday and on Tuesday.

Mr Haughey had been mounting the challenge on health grounds but it is believed his evidence is now being delivered in front of Mr Justice Moriarty for one hour a day, four days a week.

What Mr Haughey is saying will not become public until the end of his evidence, when the transcript is then expected to be read into the record of the tribunal during a public hearing.
