Dunfermline have been rocked by the news that three players have rejected new contracts at the club.
Jason Dair, Colin Nish and Steven Boyle have all declined to sign the new contracts offered to them two weeks ago.
Dair has been a first team regular this season after joining from Raith two years ago and his decision has left manager Jimmy Calderwood disappointed.
"He has turned it down so that is also disappointing for us," said Calderwood.
But Calderwood was also concerned by the news that younger players, Nish and Boyle, had refused new deals at East End Park.
"The reason they say is that they don't think that they are going to get a chance. That is their decision," said Calderwood.
"They can play a big part in the future at Dunfermline. They are only 19 and 20. In my days you could get into the first team as a 17-year-old but it is not like that now, but people don't have patience.
"These kids are going to leave a good club, I just hope for them that they get fixed up somewhere where they can be just as happy.
"We have told them what we think of them and the possibilities that are here for them at this club. If they don't want to play here then they are out the door."
