A wealthy businessman has agreed to testify in the corruption investigation of ousted Philippines President Joseph Estrada.

Mark Jimenez is sought by the US on criminal charges.

His descision is the latest in a series of devastating blows to Estrada, who was toppled from power on January 20.

Mr Jimenez has made allegations linking Estrada with a stock price manipulation scandal that devastated Manila's markets in 1999.

The testimony will not affect the extradition request of the US, which wants Jimenez on charges of illegal campaign contributions and fraud, among others.
