Irish aid agencies met with government officials today to draw up plans for relief operations in the wake of the earthquake in India and El Salvador.

Irish aid agencies met with government officials today to draw up plans for relief operations in the wake of the earthquake in India and El Salvador.

Trocaire, Goal and Oxfam all have rescue teams on the ground in both countries, working out how to allocate the £1.5m that the Government is giving in aid.

Speaking after her meeting with the aid agencies, Minister of State Liz O'Donnell, said that applications for the distribution of funds would be considered on Monday.
