An American was shot and killed Saturday in the Saudi Arabia capital, Riyadh, the chief of the police said.

An American was shot and killed Saturday in the Saudi Arabia capital, Riyadh, the chief of the police said.

“A resident holding the American nationality was shot at 4pm in Malaz area and this led to his death,” the police chief told the official Saudi Press Agency.

A US Embassy spokesman said: “We can confirm there was an individual shot who is believed to be an American. We are still investigating.”
