One man was treated in hospital and several other people narrowly escaped serious injury in a number of gun and bomb attacks in the North overnight.

The man was injured after he was hit by flying glass after shots were fired into a house at Castlerobin Road on the Belvoir estate in south Belfast.

In Lurgan, Co Armagh, a woman was treated for shock after a pipe bomb caused scorch damage when it exploded on the doorstep of her partner's home at Donard Park.

In Derry, a pipe bomb thrown at a couple's house hit a wall, partially detonated and rolled under their parked car. Shots were also fired into the homes of a man in Bushmills, Co Antrim and a Catholic family in Larne.
