Donal O'Grady has emerged as favourite to succeed Bertie Og Murphy as manager of the Cork senior hurling team.
The St Finbarr's man won an All-Ireland medal with Cork in 1984 and was a selector two years later when the Leesiders defeated Galway in the final.
John Considine and Gerald McCarthy are also believed to be contenders for the managerial post.
