Aer Lingus management is holding an emergency meeting today to discuss the airline's temporary closure.

The national carrier has been forced to shut down indefinitely due to tomorrow’s one-day stoppage by pilots.

There is increasing pressure on pilots who are striking tomorrow following the suspension of a number of colleagues who refused to work new rosters.

Management say the moves are a crucial part of the company's survival plan and must be implemented.

Pilots, members of IMPACT, want the pilots reinstated and the new rosters scrapped.

A skeleton service will be available tomorrow but the airline will not be providing a similar service for its customers on Friday.
