Man in court after stabbing incident

A man has been before a special sitting of Navan District Court in connection with a double stabbing incident in the Co Meath town.

A man has been before a special sitting of Navan District Court in connection with a double stabbing incident in the Co Meath town.

He appeared on two charges under Section Three of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.

A security man and a garda were stabbed during an incident outside a branch of Dunnes Stores in Navan last night.

Both are recovering in hospital.

The accused has been remanded in custody to Cloverhill Remand Centre in Dublin. He will appear in court again on Wednesday.
