Swindon Town have admitted they made an enquiry about acquiring the services of Bradford City's transfer-listed striker Stan Collymore - but insist it came to nothing.
Swindon chief executive Peter Rowe confirmed that the club had spoken to the Bantams about the forward's availability.
But the Premiership side came back with a different offer - one which did not interest the Second Division outfit.
Rowe said: "We made an enquiry, but Bradford came back and offered something different - end of story."
Meanwhile, Robins boss Andy King insisted he never wanted Collymore in the first place.
King told reporters: "If he (Collymore) can't perform with the level of commitment that I have been talking about at Liverpool, Leicester, Bradford and wherever else he has been, how can he come to Swindon Town and show what I need?
"There is no chance of me taking Stan Collymore."
