Robbie Williams has announced he is to take a long break from touring.

He made the announcement in front of a packed Glasgow audience on the final date of his current tour.

He was playing the last of two sell-out gigs at the city's Hampden Park stadium.

According to reports, Robbie said: "That's it - I've had enough. I won't be touring for a long, long time.

"I'm Robbie Williams - please don't forget me."

The singer told Scottish fans that his success was all down to their support at his first solo gig in Glasgow.

He said: "Thanks to your word of mouth you told everyone how great the show was.

"That's why I'm able to stand here now, in front of so many of you. I'm overwhelmed with emotion. It's all down to you, Scotland."
