Inflation down for second month running

Inflation for the month of January was 5.2%, figures just released by the Central Statistics Office have shown.

Inflation for the month of January was 5.2%, figures just released by the Central Statistics Office have shown.

The figure is a decrease of 0.7% on December's figure.

The news will come as a welcome boost to the government in its bid to fight a spiralling inflation rate.
