The Department of Agriculture has said it could now be Wednesday before the results of second foot-and-mouth tests on animals in counties Wexford and Louth are available.

The Department of Agriculture has said it could now be Wednesday before the results of second foot-and-mouth tests on animals in counties Wexford and Louth are available.

It was hoped that the results would be released today, but the Department has now reviewed the timing.

The tests are being carried out in Britain.

Initial tests in both cases came back negative.
