Students who sell stories about Prince William while he is at university face being thrown out of college.

The Principal of St Andrew's University says those who speak to the media about the Prince may have to 'find a new university'.

The college has been inundated with applications for places since it was announced William would study there.

Dr Brian Lang told student newspaper The Saint: "I would take a very dim view of any information of an inappropriate nature about any member of the university being passed on.

"At worst, a perpetrator might find him or herself having to find another university."

Applications for places at St Andrews have increased by 44% this year.
