Moriarty Tribunal to resume at Dublin Castle

The Moriarty Tribunal re-opens at noon today in Dublin Castle.

The Moriarty Tribunal re-opens at noon today in Dublin Castle.

The investigation is looking at the relationship between Esat boss Denis O'Brien and former Communications Minister, Michael Lowry.

Last week the tribunal heard that Dr Tony O'Reilly told Minister Lowry that his consortium expected to win the second mobile phone licence in October of that year. Dr O'Reilly denies saying any such thing.

The tribunal also heard that he was so annoyed at not winning the licence that the Irish Independent, owned by O'Reilly, urged voters to vote the rainbow coalition out of office in the General Election of 1997.
