Jane Fonda has sold her autobiography to a US-based publisher for a large sum of money.

It is believed the book will focus on her opposition to the Vietnam War and her transition from actress to keep-fit queen, as well as lifting the lid on her love affairs and three marriages.

Fonda has been married to film director Roger Vadim, politician Tom Hayden and media mogul Ted Turner, from whom she recently split.

The 63-year-old actress said: "There are six unauthorised books out there, so I figured it was time to do one of my own."
