Aldi have carried out a survey to coincide with their first in-store pet event and found that 98% of Irish people consider their pet a member of the family. You other 2% are monsters. We love this large doggie lounge bed for €19.99.

The pet specials are in store now. www.aldi.ie.

Check out the colour of the DFS Fliss (it’s priced €1299 until Feb 26 and is €1,679 after).

This caught our eye on Dublin interiors store April and The Bear’s website, it’s a rather unusual design, a standing lamp and shade, and we are deLIGHTed with the black bamboo concept.

It’s €92 from www.aprilandthebear.com.

Organising paperwork at home can be a thankless and never-ending and downright sob-inducing task. Get help tidying those bills with this caged paper holder from TK Maxx. I like the fact that you attach it to the wall, my problem is I end up losing those lovely neat folders that I file everything into. They’re with the odd socks somewhere, is my guess. See tkmaxx.ie for more info.

This week’s coffee table tome is the stunning The Book of Seeds, edited by the former Head of the Royal Botanic Garden, Paul Smith.

It’s €35, published by Ivy Press and brings the reader on a life-size guide to hundreds of perfectly presented species from around the globe. You will find everything from the black seed with hair like Donald Trump to tiny orchid seeds. Fascinating.

My Pantone colour of 2018-inspired pick this week is this gorgeous grape tartan cushion from Laura Ashley, €48 and available in store and online at www.lauraashley.com.

You can’t have too many lanterns — they can create an atmosphere so beautifully, indoors and outdoors. We spotted this Knoll lantern and instantly fell in love with the colour. It’s from the A by Amara collection and the one pictured here is the largest in stock at €45 but they do have smaller sizes too.

I’ve noticed New Look is upping their interiors accessories game recently. Have you noticed lots of traditional clothing/only high-street brands like Next, River Island and H&M have homeware bits and pieces near the tills? I’m a sucker for a cute mug (just ask the husband) and couldn’t resist this pink patterned mug at €8.99 from New Look.

See for more.
