Esther N McCarthy discovers designer bins and relishes retro sofa coverings this week.
We were so sad to hear the news that Ikea founder Ingvar Kamprad passed away recently in Sweden.
Here we have this beautiful LED floor Delaktig lamp, from Ikea’s new collaboration with the designer, Tom Dixon.
It just landed in-store and online in Ikea and this lamp is €75. It can be attached to the DELAKTIG frame, or if you prefer you can use as a traditional floor lamp.
We like the flexible head that makes it work as a reading light, or adjust it to emit a relaxed evening glow. RIP, Mr Kamprad.
As we venture more outdoors, I’ve noticed the mud is starting to come inside.
Behold the Laura Ashley garden doormat. Cute, isn’t it?
It’s €28 in store and online here.
The right light can totally transform a space.
We love this Anello wall light, we’re told they are due to hit in early February so hopefully they’re in stock right now.

Homesense has launched its spring collections and we love the laid-back look.
This is their concept for the conservatory for 2018. Available in their Cork store on Patrick Street and online.
What a glorious styling - it’s retro Jane Churchill fabric with a massive pop of colour on the walls. La Maison Chic have over 40 designer fabric brands but this sofa covering is our
favourite.
The Galway store are celebrating their 10th anniversary and are offering 25% off curtains, blinds and upholstery fabrics and wallpapers, and 20% off sofa, furniture and lighting orders and displays until February 9.

The Dutch know how to do design, right? This combines looks and practicality, it has two inner 11 and 23-litre compartments made from 100% recycled materials, so you can separate out your recycling from your normal waste.
It’s retailing at €159 from Meadows & Byrne and comes with designer bags to fit perfectly, so no spills. Neat.
