Gardaí in Finglas are investigating the discovery of a body of a 29-year-old man in an apartment on Wellmount Road, Finglas at 11am today.
Gardaí believe a man suffered a violent death.
Investigating officers are meeting now to discuss the case.
The alarm was raised after gardaí received a 999 emergency call.
The victim has been identified, but his name will not be released until all his family members are notified.
The investigation is at an early stage, but detectives are treating the discovery as suspicious and case conference is now underway at Finglas garda station.
The scene remains sealed off to allow for a technical examination to take place.
The Office of the State Pathologist has also been notified and the body will remain where it was found until a preliminary examination is completed.
Five days ago, 63-year-old Thomas Horan was found dead in his apartment in Ringsend.
Two people have since been charged in connection with that killing.
