Young man held over serious Offaly assault
A 17 year-old male has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Co Offaly.
A man in his 50’s sustained serious head injuries during an attack which occurred on the Main street in Birr at around 3pm.
He was air lifted to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where his condition is described as serious.
The 17 year-old is being held at Birr Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
