Young man dies in Mayo crash
An 18-year-old man has died following a collision in Co Mayo.
The single vehicle crash happened at Tarmon in Blacksod at around 5.40pm this evening.
The teenager suffered fatal injuries when the car he was driving left the road and collided with a wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The front seat passenger of the car -a boy in his late teens- was airlifted to Mayo General Hospital where his injuries are described as non life threatening.
The road is closed while gardaí examine the scene and is expected to reopen in the morning.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact Belmullet Garda Station.
