Yeats commemoration set for Sligo next year

A special celebration in memory of William Butler Yeats is planned for next year.

A national and international celebration of the life and works of the Nobel Prize winning poet will take place.

June 13 2015 marks 150 years since Yeats birth.

The celebrations will be rooted in Sligo and will connect throughout the country.

Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan has said the celebrations are intended to draw people to Ireland to begin to understand what inspired Yeats and to share that experience.
