A woman in her 50s has been killed in a three vehicle road crash in Co Waterford.

A woman in her 50s has been killed in a three vehicle road crash in Co Waterford.

The incident happened at Kielys Cross in Ardmore at around 5.30pm yesterday evening.

Two other people travelling in the same car as the woman, who was a backseat passenger, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The two occupants of a second car were also taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries, while a further two occupants of the third car were uninjured.

The 18-year-old driver of the third car was arrested by officers at the scene and is being held at Dungarvan Garda station for questioning.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
