A woman is due in court charged in connection with a fatal crash in Co Monaghan earlier this week.

A three-year-old boy was killed in the two -car collision at Annamarron on the N2 at 6.30pm on Monday.

He was a passenger in a car whose 36-year-old female driver had to be airlifted to Tallaght Hospital in Dublin.

Two females in the other vehicle were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

Gardai say a 25-year-old woman will appear before Carrickmacross District Court this morning.
