A woman has been killed after being hit by a car in Dublin.

A woman has been killed after being hit by a car in Dublin.

The 40-year-old pedestrian was struck as she was crossing the road at Golden Bridge Luas stop on Davitt Road at around 10.30pm last night.

She was taken to St James' Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The car involved left the scene.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have seen a dark coloured, possible Ford Focus with either 08 or 09 registration in the area to contact them.
