A 26 year old woman has been charged in connection with a suspicious fire at a house in Co. Louth over the weekend.

A 26 year old woman has been charged in connection with a suspicious fire at a house in Co. Louth over the weekend.

A woman in her 70's was asleep at her home on the Chord Road in Drogheda when the fire broke out on Friday night.

The woman remains at St James Hospital in Dublin where her condition is described as serious.

Gardai charged a 26 year old woman this evening.

She'll appear before Trim District court in Co Meath at 11 O' clock tomorrow morning
