West Cork gardaí hold man after attempt to attack paramedics

Gardaí in West Cork are continuing to hold a Polish man in his 30s after he attacked a paramedic yesterday.

Gardaí in West Cork are continuing to hold a Polish man in his 30s after he attacked a paramedic yesterday.

Paramedics were called to Courtmacsherry to treat a man who had gone into convulsions.

As the man came out of the convulsions, he grabbed a knife and tried to attack approaching paramedics.

The medics were uninjured and the man was arrested following a short stand-off with gardaí.

He is being held at Bandon garda station and is due to appear before court over the incident.
