Website to host online auction to raise funds for Barnardos

Ultimateauctions.ie will host Ireland’s first online auction tomorrow at 8pm with the aim of raising funds for Barnardos.

Ultimateauctions.ie will host Ireland’s first online auction tomorrow at 8pm with the aim of raising funds for Barnardos.

Up for grabs will be a host of items from a signed framed photo of US Open winner Rory McIlroy to dinner vouchers to iPads.

Ultimateauctions.ie has partnered with Eirtight Technology to develop software that enables users to have the closest possible experience to a real live auction.

Bidders will go through the same process as a live auction and be able to see all bids almost instantaneously.

The lots are shown in detail with a highly visible green background showing for the highest bidder, if someone submits a higher bid they immediately see their screen change colour and have the option to bid again.

Fair bidding is ensured through a feature that extends the action time for a lot by one minute if someone adds a bid in the last 30 seconds of the specific lot auction time.

This has been designed to prevent last-second attempts to grab lots.

To participate in this auction people have to register at www.ultimateauctions.ie.
