Weather warning as heavy rain and strong winds set to cause problems on roads

The Road Safety Authority is advising road users to take particular care today as Met Éireann is warning of strong winds and coastal flooding.

Winds are forecast to reach speeds of up to 75 kilometres an hour, with gusts of up to 120 kilometres.

The Road Safety Authority says a combination of high tides, storm surge and winds may result in a risk of localised flooding.

Drivers are reminded to look out for fallen debris and flooding, while pedestrians and cyclists are reminded to wear high visibility clothing.
