Vodafone apologises for 'customer communication error'

Vodafone is apologising to some customers after they were wrongly told money had been taken from their accounts.

The company says around 1% of its 2.4 million account holders in this country were affected by what it has described as a "customer communication error".

Those affected received texts and emails wrongly telling them money had been taken, however Vodafone insisted in a statement that it was not hacked.
