Vita Cortex has today expressed its disappointment after SIPTU rejected its latest offer on redundancy pay.

Staff at the Cork plant have been staging a sit-in since last December, refusing to leave until they receive the 0.9 weeks of service settlement they say they were promised.

However in a statement Vita Cortex Ltd said that it never promised the payment and is disappointed that its "substantial" offer has been turned down.

The company is now appealing to SIPTU to adopt "a more realistic position and to enter into meaningful negotiations".
