The Mater Hospital in Dublin is appealing to people to avoid visiting the hospital because of an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

The Mater Hospital in Dublin is appealing to people to avoid visiting the hospital because of an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

The hospital says the virus is highly contagious and the hospital should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.

Visiting restrictions will be in place until further notice.
