Visitors are not being allowed into Wexford General Hospital due to an outbreak of Norovirus.

Several wards are impacted and due to increased infection control measures required hospital management has suspended visiting with immediate effect.

In a statement hospital management outlined that visiting the hospital “will only be allowed in exceptional circumstances on compassionate grounds.”

Nominated partners will be granted access to the Maternity Unit and also parents accompanying sick children in Gabriel’s Ward.

Wexford General Hospital is also asking that no children visit the hospital.
