The Transport Minister Leo Varakdar wants both sides in the latest dispute at Aer Lingus to attend the Labour Relations Commission.
Cabin crew, who are members of the IMPACT trade union, are to stage a 24-hour work stoppage on the Friday May 30.
The airline claims this action will affect up to 40,000 passengers.
The union wants radical changes to rosters, however Aer Lingus has said that would amount to an extra 32 days of unpaid leave per year for flight crews.
Minister Varakdar added it is the third strike threat at the former national airline this year and he wants to see efforts made to find a lasting resolution.
