Vandals deface memorial to three soldiers in Belfast

In the North, vandals have damaged a memorial in North Belfast to three Scottish soldiers murdered early on in the Troubles by the IRA.

In the North, vandals have damaged a memorial in North Belfast to three Scottish soldiers murdered early on in the Troubles by the IRA.

Two of the soldiers were teenage brothers.

All of them were off-duty when they were lured from a bar to Ligoniel and were shot dead.

John McVicar of the Royal British Legion said it is the first time the memorial has been defaced.
