A new law that extends the unpaid leave parents can take from work comes into effect today.

A new law that extends the unpaid leave parents can take from work comes into effect today.

It sees the time parents can take off go from 18 to 22 weeks.

From next year it'll be increased by another four weeks.

The age limit of the child the law applies to has also increased from eight years to 12.
