Unions to meet with Mount Carmel liquidator

A meeting between unions representing staff at Dublin's Mount Carmel Hospital and the liquidator is due to take place this afternoon.

It is expected that SIPTU and INMO representatives will receive an update on the winding down of the hospital.

Over 300 staff are due to lose their jobs with the closure of the Churchtown facility.

SIPTU Divisional Health Organiser Paul Bell says they want a number of questions answered:

We hope to get some clarity on whether any progress has been made in trying to find a new buyer for the hospital," he said.

"Our members are obviously concerned."
