A meeting between unions and management at Postbank has ended.

Up to 260 jobs are on the line at the bank - which is jointly owned by An Post and French bank BNP Paribas - after it announced it is to cease trading by the end of the year.

Following the meeting, the Communications Workers Union called on the Finance Minister Brian Lenihan to apply the same resolve to maintaining Postbank services as he has done to the rest of the banking sector.

And the union wants An Post to find a new partner as soon as possible.
