Gardaí are still questioning two men who were arrested in connection with a botched raid on a post office in Co Waterford.

The men - one aged in his 20s and the other in his 30s - were arrested in Dungarvan yesterday after the attempted robbery in Lismore.

The alarm was raised after two masked men armed with a gun and a hammer entered the premises at about 10am and demanded money.

They made off with a cash bag which is believed to have contained only documents and were picked up afterwards when gardaí stopped a car in Dungarvan.
