Gardaí have arrested two men in Dublin and Kildare today as part of their investigation into the murder of Latvian woman Baiba Saulite last year.

The men, both in their early 40s, were detained at their homes in Coolock and Allenwood this morning and are being held on suspicion of firearms offences.

Ms Saulite, a 28-year-old mother-of-two, was shot dead in what is believed to have been a contract killing outside her home in Swords exactly a year ago.

Several arrests have been made, but nobody has been charged with the murder.

Gardaí have used the anniversary of her killing today to launch a fresh appeal for information from the public.
