Two due in court in connection with knife-point robbery in Cork

Two men are due in court in connection with a robbery at a filling station in Cork city on Thursday.

The men, aged 27 and 33, will appear at a Special Sitting of Cork City District Court this morning.

Both have been charged in relation to the robbery where two masked men armed with knives held up staff at a service station on Leitrim Street and stole a quantity of cash, just before 8.30pm on Thursday night.

The men left the scene in a car, which was driven by another man and had a female passenger.

A garda car patrolling in the area stopped the car and arrested a woman and two men, ranging in ages from late 20s to mid 40s.

Another man escaped on foot.

Gardaí recovered knives, balaclavas and cash in the car.
