Gardaí in Ballyfermot have arrested two men following an alleged carjacking in Dublin.

At around 4am today a taxi driver was threatened at knife point in the Park West area of Dublin.

The taxi driver managed escape unharmed before the taxi was stolen.

The car was later abandoned and recovered close to the scene. Two men in their 20s were arrested in west Dublin this morning.

Both are being held this evening at Ballyfermot Garda Station.
